Honouring the Land and Our Shared History
The Woodlea Community Association acknowledges that we are situated on lands governed by Treaty No. 6 and Treaty No. 7. This land is also recognized as a historic Métis gathering site and forms part of a broader landscape that has long been shared by Indigenous Peoples.
We honour the histories, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous
Peoples, including Cree, Blackfoot, Stoney Nakoda, Tsuut'ina, and Métis communities, whose enduring relationships with this land continue today.
As a neighbourhood rooted in connection and care for one another, the Woodlea Community Association is grateful to live, gather, and build community on this land. We acknowledge the responsibility that comes with this privilege and are committed to fostering a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive community while supporting the ongoing journey of truth, learning, and reconciliation.
